Dr Richard Pococke, Bishop of Ossary’s visit to the Holy Land , Lebanon and the near East in 1738. He recorded with great accuracy his travels and observations of religious diversity which had important ramifications on his approach to Irish religious relations.
His testimony triggered the interest of students of Broummana High School to visit Kilkenny College to work with a team of students on the works of Bishop Pococke in Kilkenny. The event will join scholars of Politics, History, religion, literature and studies of Peace and conflict resolution at an expose given by the students.
