Your Local Gathering Team

The Gathering is a government supported, tourism led  initiative which is nationally driven by Failte Ireland.

This year long celebration is managed at a national level by ‘The Gathering Ireland. Every county in Ireland has a Gathering coordinator who liaises with the Gathering Ireland’s Local Engagement Manager. These are your main contacts for all things related to the Gathering in your county and they work with a County Steering Committee to  plan and deliver the county’s Gathering Action Plan. Kilkenny’s co-ordinator is Aisling Hayes and the Gathering engagement manager is Fionnan Nestor.

The Steering Group is a voluntary group invited by the County Manager to support and drive the Gathering agenda for the County. This group has representation from many of the key stakeholder groups throughout Kilkenny such as festival organisers, community and sporting groups and local government but is by no means finite so if you would like to play a part, please contact us! We would love to have you on board.
