Every summer Ireland’s oldest multi-disciplinary arts festival draws over 25,000 visitors to the city with its mix of poets and performers, sopranos and sculptors, Krautrock and craftwork, workshops and walks.
To mark The Gathering Ireland 2013 and Kilkenny Arts Festival’s 40th festival, the festival plans to make a global call to invite choral singers from across the world to join us in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in a week-long music project culminating in a performance of the iconicwork Carmina Burana by Carl Orff with achorus of 150 singers and a professional orchestra in the surroundings of the 13thcentury St. Canice’s Cathedral in Kilkenny City.
